If you&#8217;re a PC novice, you might want to install this anti-viral protection program (you can only install one &#8220;definitions driven&#8221; anti-virus program &#8230; so you&#8217;d need to pick MSE or Avast &#8230; but you wouldn&#8217;t be able to install both). MSE is a free download from Microsoft that is simple to install, easy to use, and always kept up to date so you can be assured your PC is protected by the latest technology. It\u2019s easy to tell if your PC is secure \u2014 when you\u2019re green, you\u2019re good. It\u2019s that simple.\u00a0 No annual re-registration requirement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.avast.com\/en-us\/index\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Avast! Home Edition<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 Avast Home Edition is FREE for home\/personal use. Works great. It&#8217;s not as invasive as Norton and McAfee and it doesn&#8217;t bog your PC down into nowhere land. Plus, it has a feature that lets you perform a boot-time scan before windows starts up (letting you delete any little uglies that might have set up residence in the system folder BEFORE windows start-up). Free for home\/personal use; requires annual re-registration.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><\/h1>\n<h1><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #ff9900; font-family: 'Roboto Condensed';\"><strong>ANTI-SPYWARE PROGRAMS<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 16px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.malwarebytes.org\/mbam.php\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Malwarebytes&#8217; Anti-Malware<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 If your PC should get infected by something really ugly, this program can be quite useful in helping to eradicate the pest. The free version is run on-demand by the PC user &#8230; but if you want it to run on it&#8217;s own, providing real-time protection, or scheduled scanning and updating operations, there&#8217;s a one-time fee of $24.95.
