How Can She Be Pro-Life? Not In My Book!

I cannot reconcile in my mind how a person could profess herself to be ‘pro-life’ yet promote predatory aerial hunting of wildlife (wolves, bears and even bear cubs … up to 70% of the wild life in certain sections of the state) and offer a $150 bounty for the severed left foreleg of the brutally slaughtered animal as a means to promote the killing. I may have been on the fence and toying with voting for Libertarian Bob Barr in protest this election … but after viewing this single ad alone, I’m definitely voting for Obama. To be even more succinct, I’d vote for the devil himself to prevent this poor excuse of a human being (Sarah Palin) from being one heartbeat away from the presidency of this great nation!

This video below is quite graphic. I cry every time I watch it.

Alaska residents have twice voted to ban aerial wolf hunting — first in 1996 and again in 2000. Both times, the Alaska Legislature overturned the will of the people and allowed the Board of Game to re-create the programs after the two-year initiatives expired. It’s on the ballot yet again in Alaska (despite Gov. Palin’s attempts to keep it off the ballot) to ban all aerial hunting of wildlife in Alaska.

Governor Palin uses a loophole in Federal Law to actively promote the use of aerial hunting to “manage wildlife populations” of wolves, bears and even bear cubs … to artificially inflate moose and caribou populations for sport and trophy hunting. Declarations that the program is for the benefit of subsistence hunters are shattered with documentation showing that sport and trophy hunters take up to 73% of prey in areas where aerial wolf hunting has taken place. 671 wolves have been shot by Alaska residents in private aircraft over the past four years. Folks, these are NOT clean kills, they’re mercilessly brutal, and the animals suffer horribly. These are wild animals in wilderness areas. It’s not like they’re threatening populated areas. Alaska is home to the largest population of grey wolves in the U.S. If she gets the ability to “drill baby, drill” in the Alaskan Wildlife Reserve … there won’t be any wildlife left in that reserve by the time she’s authorized even more “wildlife management” quotas for her aerial hunting squads.

You can make a difference. Call for support of H.R. 3663, legislation now being considered in the U.S. Congress which will close the loophole in the Federal Airborne Hunting Act that Gov. Palin has exploited to promote this horrific practice. H.R. 3663 was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on 9/25/2007. It’s last major action was being referred to the Fisheries, Wildlife and Oceans subcommittee on 9/27/2007. It has 129 Cosponsors; Rep. Heller is not yet one of them.

  1. Excellent post. In addition to all that, how can she be pro-life AND pro-war AND against universal health care? That’s not pro-life. She’s just someone’s tool.

I don’t want her any closer to the White House than the public tours.
